Higher education opportunities can be cost-prohibitive. One of BQLIAHEC’s core goals is the help make healthcare education more accessible for all students. We are proud to offer scholarship opportunities for the students in our region.
The Hazel Sanderson, EdD., R.N. Health career Scholarship provides support for a deserving student who has completed at least one BQLI-AHEC program in the past 5 years and is pursuing a career in a healthcare profession. The recipient of this award will be selected based on their spirit, tenacity, and dedication to providing care to underserved communities in our region.
The Hazel Sanderson, EdD., R.N. Health Career Scholarship is named in honor of Dr. Hazel Sanderson, EdD., RN, who is a founding member of BQLI AHEC and serves as the Board Chair. For the past 20 years, Dr. Sanderson has made significant contributions to the organization and its programs through mentoring, community service, and program engagement, in addition to her Board responsibilities.
